Mortgage rates are continuing to trend down. According to Freddie Mac, the national average 30-year rate is now 6.35%, down 15 basis points in one week. The 15-year fixed mortgage rate is down 10 basis points to 5.50%. Once again, these are new lows for 2025. With rates on a downward trend, purchase applications saw the highest year-over-year growth rate in four years, according to Freddie Mac.
