Eurostar has confirmed a €2bn ($2.32bn) investment in up to 50 new Avelia Horizon double-decker very high-speed trains from Alstom Group. The contract includes an initial order for 30 trains, with an option for an additional 20. Delivery of the first six Celestia units is scheduled for January 2031 with commercial operation beginning in May of that year.
